I Love Guns & Coffee

Starbuck’s has come under fire from an anti-gun group for being policy-neutral about gun control. A group called Mom’s Demand Action is trying to petition Starbucks into creating an anti-gun policy. This seems at least partly in response the Open Carry Walk that happened in Sioux Falls a little over a week ago. The walk was very successful, with over 60 participants and included a stop by Starbucks for coffee. The Mom’s Demand Action group is not happy with Starbucks current policy of allowing the open carry (or concealed carry) of guns if that meets federal, state, and local laws. This does not mean Starbucks is pro-gun; rather it means they have decided to take a neutral stance on the subject.

As a show of support for Starbucks the group Guns Saves Lives is asking for Constitutionally protected rights supporters to stop by and make a purchase on Friday, August 9th. Doing this will offset any financial losses Starbucks would suffer due to mini-boycotts from the Mom’s Demand Action group. Even if you don’t like coffee you can always grab a muffin or cookie. The point is this will allow civil rights advocates a chance to let a company know when consumers approve of their policies.

If you plan to participate in the event stop by the Facebook Event and click “join”. That will let others know that you support constitutionally protected rights, including the Second Amendment!
