Constitution Party of SD announces statewide tour to defend the US Constitution against an Art V Convention

February 23, 2014

The announcement below has been released by the Constitution Party of SD. The guest in this tour is attorney Richard Fry, an expert on the dangers of an Article V Constitutional Convention. I’ve posted my opposition to an Art V convention previously. Here is the announcement from the Constitution Party of SD:

986760_10203042378922629_759308735_nThere are several announcements of upcoming events coming to a town near you.  First, we are disappointed to announce that the South Dakota for Freedom rally had to be postponed until late June or middle of July and will be at a different location in Rapid City.

Gubernatorial candidate Curtis Strong will be at a meet and greet in Sioux Falls tomorrow afternoon, Sunday Feb. 23rd.  It will take place at the main library located at 200 N. Dakota Ave.  Event starts at 3:15pm in the large meeting room, room A.  Petitions and voter registration forms will be available.

Attorney Richard Fry will still be coming to South Dakota and will now be doing an entire speaking tour throughout South Dakota on March 7, 8 and 9.  Richard, the Strongs and I will be making a complete loop throughout our state in order to take a stand in defending our constitution against the dangers of a proposed constitutional convention.Richard is very knowledgeable on this subject and is volunteering his time to help fight this in our state.  We are going to be flying him in from KS and covering his travel expenses for this very important pushback to an Article V convention.  He has also issued an open challenge to debate any of the Convention of States folks or our state legislators.

We will be petitioning all along the way and getting our gubernatorial candidate in front of as many people as possible.  As you know, press is extremely hard to come by so we need to be in the good fight however we can be.  Getting our gubernatorial candidate on the ballot is a do or die effort for keeping our status as a party in South Dakota and we are fully committed to retaining ballot access into the future.
Anyone that can help us with setting up the speaking spots along the way, getting the word out to your local community and coming out to sign petitions is greatly appreciated.  Our route will be available and interactive so you can see where we are on this 3 day journey around South Dakota.  We need to be leading the way in defending our constitution and bringing expertise in to help stop the possible rewriting of our supreme law of the land.  The interactive calendar and map will be available shortly on one of Richard’s websites at http://www.defendnotamend.com
We are standing up to defend our constitution and not going away anytime soon.  Any urgently needed donation that you can make to help us retain ballot access and fund the expenses of taking this stand as a party would be greatly appreciated.  No donation is too small, please go to http://www.constitutionpartysd.org and hit the donate button to contribute by debit, credit or paypal.
We hope to meet you along the way!
In Freedom and Justice,
Lori Stacey
State Chairwoman

Yeah, its a scary prospect. I don’t think it will happen either. But the movement behind it is BIG, with deep pockets…
