Candidate forum in Aberdeen this Saturday

September 23, 2014

podiumThis Saturday, September 27, the League of Women Voters and the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting a candidate forum in Aberdeen. This forum will include the candidates for State Legislature in Districts 2 and 3 (District 1 has no general election candidates); plus there will be candidates running for office in Brown County. The forum will be held at the Hub Area Multi District Vocational Center (640 9th Ave. SW in Aberdeen).

Here is the schedule for the forum:

9:00 am – District 3 State Legislature candidates. Senate: Republican David Novstrup & Democrat Mark Remily. House: Republicans Dan Kaiser (incumbent) and Al Novstrup, Democrats Burt Elliott and Pat Hale.

10:00 am – District 2 State Legislature candidates. Senate: Democrat Chuck Welke (incumbent) and Republican Brock Greenfield. House: Republicans Burt Tulson (incumbent) and Lana Greenfield, Democrats Natasha Noethlich and John Graham.

11:00 am – Brown County Commission candidates. Republicans Nancy Hansen (incumbent), Mike Wiese (incumbent) and Doug Fjeldheim. Democrats Tom Fischbach (incumbent), Paul Dennert, and Louis Liebig.

12:00 pm – Brown County Auditor candidates. Democrat Maxine Fischer (incumbent) and Republican Tom Wanttie.

It should be an interesting forum. The District 2 and 3 races are among the more interesting in the state this year.
