House Appropriations committee has 7 bills on Jan 23

johnny-automatic-advise-from-the-doctorOn Friday, January 23rd, at 8:00 AM the House Appropriations committee will take up seven bills.

HB 1021 – Repeal the authorization for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology research center project and to authorize the South Dakota Building Authority to issue bonds to finance a portion of the maintenance and repair of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology chemistry/chemical engineering renovation project.

A bill from the SD Board of Regents. This bill basically strips the information about the research center project and inputs the chemistry/chemical engineering renovation project. The new project has a price not to exceed 10 million dollars.

HB 1022 – Authorize the Board of Regents to purchase improved property in Spearfish and to make an appropriation therefor.

Another Board of Regents bill. This bill authorizes the Board of Regents to buy property in Spearfish for $45,000.

HB 1042 – Authorize the Department of Public Safety to construct offices in Butte County and Roberts County, to make an appropriation therefor, and to declare an emergency.

This bill is for the SD Department of Public Safety. This bill appropriates $196,850 for new facilities in Butte County and Roberts County.

HB 1046 – Repeal certain provisions regarding zero based budgets and the coordination of federally aided programs.

The Bureau of Finance and Management (BFM) are the source of this bill. This bill repeals all code in Zero Based Budgets (§ 4-7A) and Coordination of Federally aided Programs (§ 4-8B).

HB 1049 – Repeal certain provisions regarding reversions of appropriations for a repealed tax refund program.

Another BFM bill. Appears to be cleanup after a previously repealed program.

HB 1057 – Make an appropriation to reimburse certain eligible health care professionals who have complied with the requirements of the rural health care facility recruitment assistance program and to declare an emergency.

The Department of Health (DOH) asked for this bill. The bill appropriates $302,500 for use with the rural health care facility recruitment assistance program.

HB 1060 – Make an appropriation to reimburse certain family physicians, dentists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who have complied with the requirements of the recruitment assistance program and to declare an emergency.

Another DOH bill. This one appropriates $381,766. for individuals found to have met the requirements of the program.
