House Health has three bills on Tues Feb 3

February 2, 2015

massagewomanOn Tuesday, February 3rd, at 7:45 AM the SD House Health and Human Services committee will take on 3 bills.

HB 1102 – SoDakLiberty PostsRevise certain provisions regarding the regulation of licensing massage therapists.

Rep Jacqueline Sly (R, Dist 33) and Sen Deb Soholt (R, Dist 14) are the prime sponsors of this bill. This bill adds “pled guilty of a felony” to the list of items that can deny a temp license. It also adds language that allows a license for massage therapy even if certain disqualifying conditions have been met. It also removes the requirement to have a HS diploma (or equivalent).

HB 1130 – SoDakLiberty PostsProhibit an abortion provider from accepting payment for an abortion prior to the end of the required informed consent period.

Rep Nancy Rasmussen (R, Dist 17) and Sen Jenna Haggar (R, Dist 10) are the prime sponsors of this bill. This makes sense to the spirit of the law in question. If payment for abortion service was received before the informed consent period, it would appear the informed consent period was not being taken serious and that it has become a mere procedural step in getting an abortion (which from what I hear is basically true).

HB 1151 – SoDakLiberty PostsImprove public safety through confidential stress management services for emergency service providers.

Rep Jim Bolin (R, Dist 16) and Sen Betty Olson (R, Dist 28) are the prime sponsors of this bill. This would appear to protect the confidentiality of what an emergency service responder says during a “Critical incident stress management” session. It does have exceptions included.

The only people who should vote on the abortion bills are women. Unfortunately, the men think they know best. If they don’t want their sperm aborted, they can keep their peckers in their pants, Once they donate it to a woman, it becomes a free gift and they lose ownership.

When my ex was considering an abortion, I kept my mouth shut. She decided not have an abortion, which, in my opinion, turned out to be a mistake
